What We Offer
Hello and Welcome to Liturgical Music at Stella Maris!
We have many different choirs and musical ensembles that lead music at the different parish Masses. Below are descriptions of the individual groups as well as contact information for leaders. On the page "Detailed Choir Information" you can find more specific information such as music lists, cantor schedules, and specific rehearsal times and dates. If you have any general questions about music, please contact me and I can answer your questions, or get you in contact with the correct person.
Thank you and Welcome!

Mary Star of the Sea, Parish Choir
The Mary Start of the Sea Parish Choir sings every Sunday at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning Mass. We welcome new members at all times. The choir specializes in singing traditional hymnody and anthems encompassing the whole range of church music, from traditional chant and polyphony all the way up to the present. They rehearse at 7 p.m. in Regina Coeli on Wednesday evenings during the fall/spring academic year. During the summer there are no rehearsals and the choir comes on Sundays (optional).
Please see the Detailed Choir Information page for more details such as the music list and choir rehearsal schedule. Please contact Jack Cleghorn at MusicAtStellaMaris@gmail.com for more information
St. John the Baptist, Latin Mass Choir
This group regularly sings at the Sunday 5:30 p.m. Mass and is directed by Steven Collins. On a typical Sunday they sing Gregorian Chants specifically proper for the day: the Introit, Gradual, Alleluia, Offertory, and Communion. The Mass settings (Gloria, Sanctus, Agnus Dei) are also always in Latin. They also sing traditional organ-based hymnody. They generally practice on Sunday evenings before Mass at 4:30pm.
If you have any questions please contact Steven Collins at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jack Cleghorn at MusicAtStellaMaris@gmail.com. New members are always welcome! Please also see the Detailed Choir Information page for more details.
Stella Maris Cantors
The Cantors at Stella Maris help lead the hymns and Responsorial Psalms at the 5:00 p.m. , 8:00 a.m. , and 11:00 am weekend Masses. Being a cantor is a fulfilling and important job. Because of the more demanding nature of being a cantor, please contact the Director of Liturgical Music, Jack Cleghorn at MusicAtStellaMaris@gmail.com if you are interested. The DLM will fill you in on the specific rehearsal requirements and meet with you.
Wee Sing/St. Catherine of Alexandria Children's Choirs
