For more information, feel free to contact Miller Shealy at[email protected].
The new Adult Bible Study is titled “A Man After God’s Own Heart: The Story of David.” The class has been developed and will be led by two accomplished Bible scholars, Don Menick and Miller Shealy, both of whom have vast experience and backgrounds in scripture study (and are fellow parishioners).
The first class will focus on the major themes which echo throughout scripture. It will provide an overview from 10,000' of the Old Testament and provide a framework for understanding where David fits in.
Exposure to and understanding scripture is foundational to understanding and strengthening our faith. It doesn’t matter that you may not have attended a class in the past – these sessions are perfect for those new to scripture study or those more well-versed. And, don’t worry if you can’t make all the classes – the program is syllabus-based so you can keep up on your own. The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible guide “The First and Second Book of Samuel” will be available for all to use and keep.
This is a very special opportunity to share and learn God’s word with other parishioners in a relaxed environment. Meeting in the Sedes Sepientiae building (small white cottage across from the church), we’ll follow the same schedule and times as the CCD classes. For more information, feel free to contact Miller Shealy at[email protected].
