Dear Stella Maris Families,
I hope that you are all enjoying this last bit of summer. Attached below you will find the registration form for this year’s Religious Education program. Classes will begin on September 11.
Please note that you must either register for or opt-out of the touching safety/safe-environment class. This is entirely up to you; we are required to offer it by the diocese. If you do decide to register for this class, I ask that you please mark it on your calendars. In the past, many who have signed up have not attended, which makes accurate planning difficult.
Please be aware that we are not offering an “at home” option this year.
New this year! Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Stella Maris is excited to offer the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd to 3-5-year-olds this year from 9:20 – 10:50 AM. CGS is an interactive form of catechesis where children explore with hands-on materials to understand the Bible and the Mass. This religious experience fosters the growth of the relationship between God and the child in a place specially prepared for the religious life of children called the Atrium. The atrium is a place where the child is guided in a personal relationship with Jesus through engaging presentations and tactile materials which express Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection, the life of the church, and the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus is the true teacher in the atrium, while the catechist serves as the guide. Space is limited and precedence will be given to 5-year-olds.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to working with you all this year as we help to bring our children to Jesus Christ, the source of all that is Good, True, and Beautiful!
God bless,
Jason Vaughan
